Muriel Rivera asked: Oprah Winfrey
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw her photo when signing up on Twitter two months ago. She’s the very first person I followed. There is not a single person I know, who has not heard of Oprah Winfrey. She’s not only a popular American media personality, but I bet that all people on this planet know who she is. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the most philanthropic African American of all time, and was once the world’s only black billionaire. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world. I admire her because she’s an achiever. She’s a fighter, yet she has a very BIG heart. She was very honest about her past, and I consider her life story an inspiration. So many things you can learn from her. I’m sure you will live your best life by just browsing through Oprah’s official website. She has 2.4 million followers on Twitter.
Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart is another celebrity I follow on Twitter. I’m a big fan of Martha, and I’ve been watching her TV show for years. I was also pleased to see her twittering. Her Bio on Twitter describes her as curious, inquisitive, experimental entrepreneur who cares about the world we live in. Martha is an American business magnate, television host, author and magazine publisher. As founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, she has gained success through a variety of business ventures, encompassing publishing, broadcasting, and merchandising. Stewart’s syndicated talk show, Martha, is broadcast throughout the world, she has written numerous bestselling books, and she is the publisher of Martha Stewart Living magazine.
In 2001, Stewart was named the third most powerful woman in America by Ladies Home Journal. In 2004, she was convicted of lying to investigators about a stock sale and served five months in prison. I believe, her short vacation in jail has touched the lives of her inmates as Martha taught them some skills on how to make her home living projects. Stewart began a comeback campaign in 2005, with her company returning to profitability in 2006. There are so many practical things you can learn from Martha about home living and many, many more. She has 1.5 million followers on Twitter.
Joel Comm
Joel Comm is an American author and Internet marketer. I follow him on Twitter because I was inspired to start making blogs after reading his e-book The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You about Making Money with Adsense, which was published in 2006 and become New York Times and Business Week bestsellers. He is also the author of Click Here to Order: Stories of the World’s Most Successful Internet Entrepreneurs and Twitter Power: How to Dominate your Market One Tweet at a Time. In 2007, he was the host and Executive Producer of The Next Internet Millionaire, an online reality show. In 2008, his company, Infomedia, produced an iPhone application: iFart. If you want to get to know him more, please check out his website.
John Chow
John Chow is another inspiring successful internet marketer. His Twitter Bio describes him as best known for showing the income power of blogging by taking his blog from zero to over $40,000 per month in two years. I follow him simply because he’s got so many ideas about how to make money online which is very helpful during this time of economic downturn.
John will help you put your blogging into high gear by setting up a mailing list on your blog and capture all the leads coming to it. He says the mailing list is what separate the big money making blogs from the little ones. If you want to make the really big bucks from your blog, you need to get a mailing list. So, John highly recommends an email autoresponder service called Aweber. He says they are by far the best in the business. They offer the most options and features and have an uncanny ability to break through spam filters. Aweber is extremely ISP friendly and you won’t have to worry if all your emails are getting through. Setting up an Aweber account starts at $19 per month.
Ted Murphy
I followed this guy because I thought he was funny. His Bio says he’s the ‘Founder/CEO of IZEA. Serial entrepreneur. Marathon runner. Cheese eater. Social media addict. Apple fan boy. Owner of 3 pairs of pants. Disruption with a smile.’
IZEA is a world leader in sponsored conversation. Sponsored Conversation is a social media marketing technique in which brands provide financial or material compensation to bloggers in exchange for posting social media content about a product, service or website on their blog. IZEA created the sponsored conversation space in 2006 and has initiated nearly 1,000,000 sponsored conversations to date. I still have to explore their website izea to get to know more on what’s going on in there.
Warren Buffet
Warren Buffet is the latest twitterrer I’m following simply because I expect to learn from the master of the latest financial, economic and investors news & analysis. He is a U.S. investor, businessman, and philanthropist. He is one of the most successful investors in history, the primary shareholder and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, and in 2008 was ranked by Forbes as the richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of approximately $62 billion. Buffett is often called the “Oracle of Omaha” or the “Sage of Omaha” and is noted for his adherence to the value investing philosophy and for his personal frugality despite his immense wealth.
In 1999, Buffett was named the top money manager of the twentieth century in a survey by the Carson Group, ahead of Peter Lynch and John Templeton. In 2007, he was listed among Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the world. All his Twitter followers are still waiting for him to make his first tweet, but it is obvious that he’s a very busy man.
