How long does a Youtube account take to delete completelyso i can use its username?

I asked someone to delete their YouTube account so I could use their username. They did this and whenever I look at the youtube channel it says “this account is closed”. Yet when I try to make an account with the username it says “Username Unavailable” How long will it take to completely delete the account?

    never, would be the wrong answer.

    youtube is constantly review, deleting, account holders and user names. it’s all a matter of where it falls on youtube’s list. that s/n has to clear, the s/n could be listed to clear on a list ranging 1/100 or at number 500 on a list of 60,000. It could takes hours, days, weeks, or perhaps a year. You could contact youtube directly and inquiry the process to be handled promptly.
